Thomas Ryd
CEO
Thomas Ryd is Chief Executive Officer of CFEngine. Before joining the company, he was Incubator Manager at Oslo Innovation Center, a leading Nordic start-up incubator, and Investment Manager at Springfondet, a technology seed fund. He has worked directly with a number of technology start-ups, serving on the board of directors for XT Software AS, Searchdaimon AS, encap AS, andIDTEQ AS. He previously co-founded a company called Smartlink AS.
Ryd also worked for a Norwegian government agency in London, assisting Norwegian companies expanding to Great Britain. He began his career as a programmer at Telenor ASA, Norway's largest Telecom provider (the world's fifth largest), which gave him valuable insight to the life and challenges of a computer engineer.
Ryd holds a Master’s degree in Administration, specializing in Information Management, from the Norwegian School of Management and Universitiaet St.Gallen, Switzerland. |

Mark Burgess
Founder and CTO
Mark Burgess is the creator and main technical architect of the popular CFEngine open source IT automation software. He was the first person internationally to hold the title of 'Professor of Network and System Administration', at Oslo University College. He now leads the research and development of the CFEngine software full time.
Dr. Burgess holds a first class honours degree in Physics from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and a PhD in Theoretical Physics also from Newcastle, for which he received the Runcorn Prize.
He has made significant contributions in the fields of automation and policy-based management, including the idea of operator convergence and promise theory. He has received a number of awards, including the SAGE 2003 Professional Contribution Award: "For groundbreaking work in systems administration theory and individual contributions to the field".
Dr. Burgess is a frequent keynote speaker at international IT management events.

Christian Figenschou
Director of Products & Services
Christian Figenschou oversees CFEngine's product management and internal team of professional service consultants.
He has over a decade of senior product management and services experience in the mobile telecommunications industry with Telenor, Motorola, and as an independent consultant. Most recently, he served as product director for Tandberg, a provider of a Cloud-based video conferencing service.
Mr. Figenschou holds a Masters degree in Business and Economics, Technology Management from the Norwegian School of Management, Handelshøyskolen BI.

Suetelane Paludo
Director of Operations & Human Resources
Suetelane (Sue) Paludo manages CFEngine's operations from the company's Oslo, Norway office and oversees hiring and human resources.
Prior to joining CFEngine, she worked for more than 11 years for Trolltech Inc. as its first employee outside of engineering -- through a successful IPO and eventual acquisition by Nokia. During that time, she worked in a variety of strategic sales, marketing and operations positions in both Silicon Valley and Norway. At Nokia, she was responsible for world wide sales operations in the Qt software division.
Ms. Paludo holds a BA in Economics from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and has attended UC Berkeley, Stanford University, Brazil's Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), and Colegio Nossa Senhora do Rosario.
